i forget about this blog thing, ya know, since it isn't really my internet thing. perhaps if we ran some sort of wrestling video/political news service i might be more attuned. i guess we're half way there.

anyways, on to non-youtube things, such as me.

so i was all up in europe starting the friday after graduation. went to belfast, dublin area for my cousin's wedding, oslo and the norwegian countryside, and stockholm (all with my pop and sister). then i was in amsterdam for 6 days and dublin for 2 with julia. twas quite the trip. norway was the best part, for sure. place is extremely expensive though, but once i got over that (my father was paying anyways), it was da bomb dot com. dudes there are all looking like me, except they all gel up their hair crazy, and the local scenary... wooo! (and yes i am referring both to hot women and natural sights). there are undoubtedly thousands upon thousands of awesome waterfalls, mountains, and lakes in that fine country. we also got to visit my third cousin for an afternoon, on her commercial farm. it was great. very distant relatives and awesome homeland. and that was just norway. ireland was great as usual, though i had better beer and food on my way back through dublin. wedding was fun, except too many old people in my family. also, no one in ireland has any rhythm. but i "did" ireland in '06, so i didn't do much touristing this time. belfast was nice, for the two nights i was there. certainly plenty of history with IRA/loyalist conflict, which ties into religious stuff. they are only recently coming out of the "troubles" of the past. and then amsterdam, i've been to, and it was ok. a week with julia alone was rough at times, but we survived eachother. saw eurocup games in netherlands when the team was playing, which was great, and got to enjoy many aspects of amsterdamese life, including that ganj, which i've decided ain't really my thing (plus illegal and weird to do outside of college). so it was a fine trip, indeed.

i got home last friday, and have really been doing very little. this past week was scheduled for job-searching, researching stuff, but i was just getting my summer on as of late. seeing friends, watching the entire star wars saga (one to go; i've really come to like the first three now, with their fairly complex plots beneath the oft-critiqued film quality. but i just love star wars, no matter what). i've also been playing tennis again, with my momma. got a new racket earlier this week, and have been steadily improving. pandian will need to give me some free lessons though, so i can start not-sucking. tuesday, i start my summer job, working for int'l student admissions office, once again, to register new international peoples in public schools. i got a raise and kinda a promotion, as i have more duties this year. we'll see how it goes being a bureaucrat again. i was a little too uptight last summer, although the job demands it.

and otherwise... my house had (still has) fleas, it sucked(s). i've read a great rwanda book by philip goerevitch, and then the omnivore's dilemma by some other guy, which i highly recommend. i have a lot to say about food in america, maybe another post. i'm really ready to not live at home, but it will have to wait till september once i can actively find a job. i'm planning on dc or new york for my near future.

so it's all good in the hood. i could use some more direction and independence, but generally, things are going alright. i oft dream of people from college. patterson was in me dreams last night, but with shaved beard and a high annoying voice. lol.
